Since getting into the triathlon culture in 2001, Jon has done many triathlons.  In 2003 he did his first iron-distance triathlon, the Great Floridian.  Since then he has focused on half-ironman distance triathlons.  He is b

 

y training (many years ago) a swimmer and is working on improving as a runner.  Last year his main adventure was the the 8 hours of triathlon in Denver, Colorado where he got 4rh place for all the males.   

 

Jon has been a high school science teacher for 22 years.  He teaches at Woodland Park High School.  In 2002 he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.   He is a national board certified teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult Science (http://www.nbpts.org/). He loves teaching and sees it as his life-calling.  If you do a google search on Jonathan Bergmann you will find numerous hits about him and podcasting.  He is an innovator in the implementation of video podcasts in the classroom.
