Since getting into the triathlon culture in 2001, Jon has done many triathlons.  In 2003 he did his first iron-distance triathlon, the Great Floridian.  Since then he has focused on half-ironman distance triathlons.  He is b
 
y training (many years ago) a swimmer and is working on improving as a runner.  Last year his main adventure was the the 8 hours of triathlon in Denver, Colorado where he got 4rh place for all the males.   
 

Jon has been a high school science teacher for 22 years.  He teaches at Woodland Park High School.  In 2002 he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.   He is a national board certified teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult Science (http://www.nbpts.org/). He loves teaching and sees it as his life-calling.  If you do a google search on Jonathan Bergmann you will find numerous hits about him and podcasting.  He is an innovator in the implementation of video podcasts in the classroom. Kris runs the tristuff4less business from their home, and her attention to detail has really grown the business to the point where it is today.  The flexibility of the business allows her to have time to be involved in church activities, volunteer at the kids schools, work out, be moms taxi service and function as the Chief Domestic Engineer.

 

Jon and Kris live, with their three kids, in beautiful Woodland Park, Colorado at the base of Pikes Peak.  This year she, Jon, and their 15 year old son will be doing ragbrai RAGBRAI, a 500 mile ride across Iowa, Kris' home state
